COVID 19 has had a devastating impact on businesses across Australia. As Melbourne enters its 4th lockdown since the pandemic began Grasshopper Soccer would like to spotlight one of our child development soccer specialists Chris Minas who’s business has actually grown by over 30% during the pandemic.
Chris has been part of the Grasshopper Soccer franchise team since 2012. He runs the Bayside area of Melbourne where thousands of children have attended his clinics over the 9 years since he commenced.
We asked Chris what the impact of COVID has had on the business and how he has been able to manage to get through over the past 12 months and this is what he had to say.
“Since the reopening, the support and love from within our community has meant numbers have actually increased by over 30%. On just a Saturday morning at our Cheltenham location, we have over 160 children attend our location. It has been overwhelming the support from everyone and it is fantastic to see that not only in Victoria but across the Grasshopper Soccer network numbers have increased substantially.
I feel it is due to people wanting to get outside, have fun with there kids and be active especially after being locked down. I am sure this will continue as the current lockdown ends and it is great to see many new people have had the confidence and join the franchise team since COVID 19 began.
In times of uncertainty I feel people take the time to reflect on what is most important to them and their family and realise life is very short. If you are not doing something you love and have a passion for, is it really worth it? This is why it feels people are making the change and with the support and size of our network success is coming to everyone part of the team.
I am excited for the future of Grasshopper Soccer and the support from HQ has been amazing. I have been able to not only keep my business, doing something which I am so passionate about, but been able to grow during these tough times.
